Heterogeneous catalyzied FAME synthesis from renewable feedstock

With depleting conventional energy sources there is urgent need to look for alternatives automotive fuel especially from Non-edible feedstocks. Present work investigates FAME (fatty acids methyl esters) synthesis commonly known as Biodiesel non-edible feedstock Karanja using heterogeneous catalyst calcium oxide (CaO). Study was investigated considering effects of oil-methanol mole ratio, concentration and temperature reaction. Our results confirm that higher ratio useful enhance yield. The findings molar ration 1:8 optimum loading 2.0% reaction 60oC. maximum yield found 92.4%. confirms the obtained has a potential alternative petro-based diesel. Novel protocol developed in present address issues downstream processing biodiesel considerable amount wastewater generated can be avoided.
